Austin Commercial, as part of a four team joint venture, completed the first phase of the $1.3 billion Parkland Replacement Hospital. The scope of this first phase included the 1.9 million-square-foot, 862-bed hospital with a construction cost in excess of $700 million. Parkland Hospital is registered with USGBC and is certified LEED Gold.
BARA, the Construction Manager at Risk for the new Parkland Hospital, is a joint venture team consisting of Austin Commercial, Balfour Beatty Construction, H.J. Russell & Company and Azteca Enterprises. The team of HDR + Corgan designed the hospital and Cri+igen, formerly known as CH2M Hill, provided project controls for the project. Parkland co-located the design and construction team, which worked in a BIM and lean environment to optimize communication and planning among the project delivery team.
