LA PORTE, TX – Austin Industrial announced today the acquisition of the company’s headquarters campus in La Porte, TX, which includes a 47,000 square foot office building and an adjacent 15,000 square foot fabrication shop. The facility has served as the company’s base of operations since 2011.
“La Porte is Austin Industrial’s home. This acquisition affirms our commitment not only to our business and highly specialized customers, but also the local community and our employee-owners,” said Bernard Hewett, President, Austin Industrial. “Our La Porte headquarters is unique in offering office space with adjacency for our fabrication operations. The acquisition will benefit Austin for decades to come.”
Austin’s facility is central to both the regional transportation infrastructure and the company’s diverse customer base. The company believes the location’s proximity to valued customers and business partners alike is a distinct advantage in the marketplace and a key factor in its continued success.
“It’s a good business investment for Austin and continues our strategy to own our offices rather than to lease.” said David Walls, President and CEO, Austin Industries. “This transaction represents the logical next step for building Austin Industrial’s legacy in La Porte well into the future."
This investment represents the latest chapter in Austin’s long presence in the area, dating back to 1927 when employee W.M. Goldston established the company’s first regional office in Houston. Since that time, Austin and its subsidiary companies have occupied spaces in downtown Houston, Bellaire, South Houston, the Hobby Area, and several other locations.
