Austin Bridge & Road secured the winning bid with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for work on the first phase of the U.S. 82 expansion project in Montague County, from just East of Ringgold, TX to SH 175 in Nocona, TX. ¶ The company will widen the two-lane undivided section of U.S. 82 (approximately 27 miles .to a four-lane divided highway, at a cost of approximately $48M. ¶ According to TxDOT, the purpose of the project is to add capacity to U.S. 82 for increased connectivity, mobility, and safety. U.S. 82 is recognized by the Cross Plains Rural Transportation Council as a priority interstate corridor.
