San Luis Port of Entry – U.S./Mexico

As part of the ongoing development of the U.S./Mexico Secure Border Initiative created by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and in collaboration with the State of Arizona, Austin constructed a new commercial port of entry facility. This was the first commercial contract for Austin with ADOT. The $10.2 million state-of-the-art facility is situated on a 20-acre site and includes two vehicular bays with trenches for undercarriage inspection, a 100-foot long static truck scale, four passenger car canopies, one commercial carrier truck canopy and a 12,366-square-foot administrative building. The project required 29,200 CY of 12 inch PCCP hardstand and 5,000 LF of water line.

This project was delivered on time and within budget, and it was awarded the 2010 AGC Build Arizona Awards in the Industrial category over $10 million.
