The project consisted of the reconstruction and widening of Oak Lawn Avenue and the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) including the overpass from Oak Lawn Avenue. Austin demolished a portion of the DNT and associated entrance and exit ramps. Two major bridge structures were rebuilt over heavy traffic – Cedar Springs structural steel girder bridge over the DNT, as well as the DNT pre-stressed concrete beam overpass over Oak Lawn Avenue. Scope items included the placement of sub-base, base, and asphalt and concrete paving throughout as well as installation of new drainage, subgrade, and sidewalk traffic signals. Austin constructed the retaining walls to allow for traffic to exit and enter from Oak Lawn from a newly signalized intersection. The bridge was also lengthened and moved from its original location to match the newly aligned Oak Lawn Avenue.
