ASU High Performance Computing Initiative (HPCI)

The project consisted of remodeling 1,500 square feet of existing space in the Ira A. Fulton Engineering School in the Goldwater Building on the ASU Tempe Campus. HPCI stretched a limited budget as far as possible to provide cooling and power for a 30 teraflop research computing facility. HPCI adds visibility and stature to ASU research and provide the computational engine for the “Decision Theater for the New Arizona.” This state-of-the-art cluster facility will accelerate research within the Fulton School of Engineering and support a variety of data analysis techniques including computational fluid dynamics, ocean modeling, design of nanostructures, bioinformatics and water resource modeling.
