Internships

Austin Industries seeks college-level students for our highly respected summer intern program.

A paid internship at Austin Industries is a chance to gain intensive hands-on job-site experience directly from project managers and superintendents running multimillion-dollar construction projects. When it comes to hiring in the future, we have an active college recruitment program and place a high value on construction internship experience.

We are looking for students who demonstrate the character, work ethic, and desire to create a career in the construction industry. Candidates for paid internships should be in a construction- or engineering-related degree program and demonstrate interest in making construction their career choice. Summer placements run from late-May to early August. Participation is for the full 12 weeks of the program.

Interns Say:

“Throughout the internship I was able to ask questions and I was given support anytime I needed it. A regular workday focused on the project, with the expectation that I am here to support that focus. They treated me like an employee, not an intern. Austin’s culture, breadth of project types and the efficiency of the project teams are more than enough reason to consider Austin when looking for employment out of college.”
Hudson, 2016 Austin Commercial intern and Texas A&M Construction Science Major

“I had the opportunity to learn about all aspects of construction from core and shell to the interiors. I didn’t feel like an intern, but one of the team. The entire site felt like one big family. I was given responsibilities in tasks that actually affected the project. Everything I learned during my internship will enhance my performance once joining the professional workforce after graduation.”
Katayoun, 2016 Austin Commercial intern and University of Texas Construction Engineering and Project Management Major

“I gained tremendous experience through my two internships with Austin from bidding a new project to close out documents. The real world experiences I have gained have kept me ahead in the classroom. I had the pleasure of working with great people throughout my internship. I always felt like part of the team and I felt the authentic care for my progression.”
- Michael, 2016 Austin Commercial intern and Prairie View A&M University Civil Engineering Major and Construction Science Minor
