At Austin Industries, we take the success and happiness of our employee-owners seriously, and in turn, we take the formation of our culture seriously.
The culture of Austin is the DNA of our organization, and because leadership drives company culture, we have developed leadership programs to ensure that the culture we desire is promoted at every level of the company. We were founded as a family business and we desire to maintain that familial culture where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
From our pre-hire process to new owner orientation to the training of our senior executives, Austin places the utmost importance on our core values of safety, service, integrity and employee ownership. At Austin, you are more than a number. You are an owner. You are family. Rather than dehumanize employee-owners and treat them as just another cog in the wheel, we want our employee owners to become more of what they were created to be, more human, just by virtue of being members of the Austin family.
To do all of this, we have a department devoted to Leadership and Culture across all of the Austin operating companies. The members of Austin's Leadership and Culture Team are all certified Leadership Challenge Coaches, certified practitioners of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality inventory, and certified in the Foundations and Key Practices of Servant Leadership.
Quarterly, the Leadership and Culture team immerses new employee-owners into Austin's culture through a three-day , internal orientation program called Foundations, which teaches attendees about Austin's core values, history, business and departmental functions.
Austin also offers a leadership development program, called Cornerstone, designed for the next generation of Austin’s leaders. Cornerstone participants engage in an 18-month program that focuses on interpersonal leadership competencies to help identify the leaders that will take Austin to new heights.
In addition to the above, team-building workshops and company functions all work together to help shape Austin's culture. This puts Austin on the cutting edge of employee growth and retention and makes Austin a special place to work.
