Sustainability/Green Building Awards

Austin Industries has been ranked among the top U.S.-based contractors according to Engineering News-Record magazine’s list of Green Contractors, based on construction revenue for projects that have been registered or certified by third-party organizations as following specific environmental, energy-savings or sustainability standards.

  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED® STAR VPP)
    • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) achieved LEED Gold certification for Tom Bradley International Terminal
    • The new Parkland hospital achieved LEED Gold certification in 2015

Safety Awards

Austin Industries has been honored with numerous local, regional and national safety awards, and was the first recipient of the prestigious Star status from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Programs. We have also received the QUOIN Safety Excellence Award for safe jobsite conditions.

Our pioneering efforts in demonstrating that a contractor can successfully apply all the requirements of the OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) have gained recognition by local, regional and national OSHA offices, as well as our customers.

    • Austin Bridge & Road has been awarded the first Green Fleet Certification by AEMP. In demonstrating its commitment to a cleaner environment, Bridge & Road showed 88 percent of its off-road fleet met a condition of being Tier 2 or better, qualifying the company for Bronze Certification, the first level in the four-tiered Green Fleet Certification program.
